Ambrit offers the full International Baccalaureate continuum with the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and Middle Years Programme (MYP). The school is an IB World School delivering PYP and MYP across Early Childhood through Middle School. The IB framework supports inquiry-based, internationally minded learning to prepare students as problem-solvers for tomorrow's challenges.
Art and Music are taught as single-subject classes with dedicated teachers. Primary Art is designed to grow artistic skills and is complemented by after-school art offerings. The after-school program includes Drama, Debate, Newspaper, and Book Club, while music features four choirs, an orchestra, and private instrument lessons.
Italian language development is integral, with four hours of Italian instruction per week across three levels (IAL 1, IAL 2, Full Program). The Full Program leads to the Quinta exam at the end of Grade 5, with Italian Math added in Grade 5. The program continues toward the Terza Media state exam in Grade 8. Additional languages offered include Spanish, Mandarin, and French through after-school activities.
More than 90 after-school activities are offered annually, including Origami, Embroidery, Arts and Crafts, Drama, Debate, Newspaper, and Book Club, as well as Math, Science, and Gardening. Students can also pursue Tennis, Yoga, Soccer, Basketball, Robotics, Coding, and STEM, with language offerings in Spanish, Mandarin, and French. The music program provides four choirs, an orchestra, and private lessons as part of after-school options.
Ambrit actively works with local organizations in Rome and maintains international partnerships with Shillong Orphanage (India) and Pane Condiviso (Haiti). Local agencies supported include Arche, Caritas Roma, the Community of Sant'Egidio, Joel Nafuma Refugee Center, Parrocchia Santa Famiglia Food Pantry, Rocca di Papa Children's Home, San Camillo Hospital – Samuel and Barbara Sternberg Foundation, and the Susan Komen Foundation – Race for the Cure. Community service initiatives include shoe donations, baby food collections, K2K clothing drives, kite making for refugees, canned food collections, toiletry kits, sandwiches for the homeless, environmental projects, and Ecology Club; there are also annual events such as the International Day of Peace, World Food Day, and the Giving Back Bazaar in December.
The Student Council is elected by students to represent the student body and serve as the voice of students to the faculty. Its objectives are to ensure the school listens to student needs, involve students in decisions affecting student life, and help students develop life skills through leadership roles. The Council also organizes activities to promote school spirit and socializing among students.
Ambrit follows a whole-child approach that considers academic, social, physical, and emotional development. Student Support Services include English as an Additional Language (EAL), Learning Support, and Counselling. The counselling team provides individual, small-group, and family support and runs workshops on social skills, transitions, third culture kids, behaviour management, bullying prevention, and family harmony. Sports Days and field trips support physical activity and well-being.
Ambrit International School in Rome is an independent day IB World School serving students aged 3–14. The school teaches in English and Italian, with Italian as an additional language from Nursery through Grade Five and options in Spanish, French and Mandarin. Ambrit offers the full IB continuum: the Early Childhood and Primary Years Programme (PYP) for ages 3–11 with a play-based, Reggio-inspired approach, and the Middle Years Programme (MYP) for ages 11–14. The Primary curriculum uses Units of Inquiry under six transdisciplinary themes, while the Middle School provides a rigorous MYP framework covering language, sciences, individuals and societies, design, mathematics, arts and PE.
