The Ambrit campus is in the Portuense area of Rome, on a 10-acre hill overlooking the Tiber River. The school day runs from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with arrivals from 8:00 a.m. The school year runs from early September to late June, with two half-term breaks and longer holidays at the end of December/beginning of January and for one week at Easter. Lunch is warm, freshly prepared and pork-free, with seasonal changes and options for special meals. A bus service operates daily from 7:00 a.m. with routes established based on where families reside. After School Activities offer more than 90 activities annually, including crafts, drama, sports, robotics, languages and a rich music program with four choirs and an orchestra.
Ambrit offers the full International Baccalaureate continuum with PYP and MYP Programmes. Ambrit Primary is an IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) school, and in Middle School high academic standards are combined with social and thinking competencies to prepare students for International High School or Italian High School. Italian is taught as an additional language from Nursery through Grade Five, and in Middle School students can study Spanish, French or Mandarin depending on the program. ICT is integrated across learning with Chromebooks/Macbooks, iPads in classrooms, Mac desktops, and a range of tools including Beebots, Botleys, Microbits, Lego Mindstorms EV3, Lego Spikes, Arduinos and a 3D printer. There are approximately 420 students, with a maximum class size of 20; Early Childhood classes and Grade 1 have a class teacher and an assistant, while Grades 2-5 have one class teacher; specialist teachers for art, music, PE and library support learning; the campus sits in Portuense, six kilometres south of the historic centre on a 10-acre site overlooking the Tiber River.
The After School Activities program offers over 90 activities each year, including Origami, Embroidery, Arts and Crafts, Sketchbook, Drama, Debate, Newspaper and Book Club, Creative Writing, Math and Science. Sports include Tennis, Yoga, Soccer and Basketball, with Robotics, Coding and STEM and language courses in Spanish, Mandarin and French. A rich music program features four choirs, an orchestra and private instrument lessons. Tutoring services can be arranged, and after-school activities run Monday through Friday from 15:45 to 16:45 in two half-year sessions.
Ambrit International School in Rome is an independent day IB World School serving students aged 3–14. The school teaches in English and Italian, with Italian as an additional language from Nursery through Grade Five and options in Spanish, French and Mandarin. Ambrit offers the full IB continuum: the Early Childhood and Primary Years Programme (PYP) for ages 3–11 with a play-based, Reggio-inspired approach, and the Middle Years Programme (MYP) for ages 11–14. The Primary curriculum uses Units of Inquiry under six transdisciplinary themes, while the Middle School provides a rigorous MYP framework covering language, sciences, individuals and societies, design, mathematics, arts and PE.
