Wellbeing and Support

How students are nurtured, understood, and kept safe

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)

The Duke of Edinburgh Award is offered at CCI. Students design their own program and set goals across four areas: service, physical recreation, skills, and an adventurous journey. Participants become more confident and resilient and develop communication, problem solving and leadership skills, with health and wellbeing and educational attainment noted as areas of impact.

English as an Additional Language (EAL)

All courses are taught in English (Italian language is offered as a subject). Entering students are encouraged to take introductory Italian to facilitate town life.

Mental Wellbeing

Participation in The Duke of Edinburgh Award supports mental wellbeing by building confidence, resilience and leadership. It also develops communication and problem solving skills, with positive effects on wellbeing observed as part of the program's outcomes.

Safeguarding

Residence Dons provide 24‑hour supervision in both residence and campus settings, enforcing safety, study and cleanliness. Dons act as mentors in a home‑like environment and oversee a silent study period during scheduled hours; curfew rules require students to return to residence by specific times on weekdays and weekends.
