The Co-Curriculum extends IB learning beyond the regular classroom through IS Milan's framework. PYP core includes Sport & Movement, Music, Drama & Public Speaking, Library Skills, day and residential trips, and the PYP Exhibition. MYP includes Service as Action projects, interdisciplinary units, leadership opportunities, and day and residential trips and the End of Year Programme. DP includes CAS, TOK, and EE, with ongoing trips, leadership roles, and dedicated university and career guidance.
Creative Arts are a pillar of the Inspired education programme. Regular specialist lessons in Music, Drama, Movement, Public Speaking and Visual Arts are provided, with after-school activities to extend learning. There are numerous performances each year, including music and drama clubs and culminations of class activities at special events. The Parent Advisory Board (PAB) runs additional events throughout the year to showcase student talents.
Clubs and Societies include a lunchtime Business Club. Student Leadership Forums include Student Council and Grade 6 and Grade 12 House Captains, as well as Food Forum and Eco ISM. House Events and Celebratory Events foster social and cultural exchange within the school community. A range of clubs and events supports cultural awareness alongside academic and co-curricular activity.
Lunchtime and after-school clubs provide social engagement and hobbies. The Sport Team programme runs lunchtime and after-school clubs to develop physical and mental skills and healthy friendships. Clubs, societies and student leadership forums broaden social interaction and leadership experience. The End of Year Programme includes events such as the ISM film festival, plays, entrepreneurial days, and other student-led activities.
Service as Action projects are integral to MYP and DP, developing leadership and community engagement. In the Diploma Programme, CAS focuses on creativity, activity, and service alongside TOK and the Extended Essay. Day and residential trips support social development and exposure to diverse communities. Ongoing leadership opportunities and service projects align with IS Milan's commitment to global citizenship.
Developing leaders is a core objective of the IB curricula and the Inspired mission. Student Leadership Forums include Student Council and Grade 6 and Grade 12 House Captains. There is a Careers Convention for Grades 10–12, plus ongoing university and career guidance and supportive resources. Clubs and competitions foster leadership and entrepreneurial skills.
Sport is a pillar of the Inspired education programme, essential to physical and mental wellbeing. Students participate in Physical Education within the regular curriculum, with optional after-school sports and a dedicated Sport Team programme. Lunchtime and after-school sport clubs promote healthy habits and friendships. Educational visits and residential trips provide experiential learning that supports wellbeing and social development.
IS Milan offers the IB Continuum (PYP, MYP, DP) for learners from Early Years to High School (ages 2-18). Instruction is in English, with language pathways to support multilingual development. From Year 1, students study with subject specialists in English, French and Spanish, plus mathematics, science, drama, dance, music and physical education. The curriculum integrates co-curricular activities, exchanges, camps and interschool collaborations within the IB framework. IS Milan was the first IB World School in Milan and joined Inspired in 2016; Baranzate campus opened in 2013 and now serves over 900 day and boarding students. Facilities include two libraries, modern science laboratories, creative arts rooms, a theatre, indoor pool, a large gym, a sports hall and outdoor spaces. The school offers DP with CAS, TOK and the Extended Essay, plus university guidance and a co-curricular program including performances and trips. Boarding life includes weekend trips and residential experiences in Italy.
