The school participates in the Henri Poincaré Contest with students in CM2, 6e and 5e. Participants develop mathematical problem solving and reasoning through the competition.
ChateauMusique was created in May 2016 to give all students from nursery to lycée the chance to discover and practice music. It offers two sections: classical music led by Donatella Valeri and modern music led by Pier Paolo Pozzi. The Lycée Théâtre Workshop, run by a teacher in collaboration with the Dynamis theatre company, combines theory, stage practice, and language in the final production, with repertoires including The Birds, Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet, The Tempest, and Antigone. Theatre groups have participated in international festival events and exchanges, and the workshops are supported and funded by the school.
Petits Champions de la Lecture celebrates the Final Italy of reading champions, highlighting reading aloud and the joy of words. Carnaval is celebrated with the theme ‘Les Emotions,' bringing a day of festive activities for the whole school. As part of the journey in artistic and cultural education, CM2 students visit the Montemartini power plant museum to explore the dialogue between industrial heritage and the arts. A fifth‑grade class visits the RAI Radiotelevisione Italiana headquarters to observe broadcasting as part of career exploration.
The CLAPE is a structure created by the APE Chato in 2019 that manages after‑school activities, holidays, supervised study, and kindergarten babysitting. All families with a child enrolled in CLAPE are members. It handles registrations, scheduling, recruitment of instructors, and use of facilities on the school site. The Aumônerie Catholique Saint Louis des Français offers weekly CE2 to 5e sessions at Strohl Fern, monthly meetings outside the school, and sacramental preparation.
Ambassadeurs en Herbe fosters public speaking and argumentation; the 2025‑2026 edition centers on AI as a revolution for humanity's benefit. The United Student Nation (SUN) provides a platform for Euro‑section Seconde students to present ideas and defend their positions publicly. These programs develop leadership, communication, and critical thinking skills.
Semaine zéro déchet runs from February 9 to February 13, 2026, encouraging the entire school community to consume more responsibly and to reduce waste.
Lycée Français Chateaubriand de Rome is a French international school located in Rome and a member of the AEFE network. It serves students from ages 3 to 18, from kindergarten through terminale, across campuses: Strohl-Fern for younger levels, and Patrizi and Malpighi for the lycée. The school is homologated by the French Ministry of National Education, confirming that its programs and organization follow French requirements while offering Italian language instruction. Curriculum emphasizes the French general path after middle school, with Seconde, Première and Terminale, and options such as ESABAC (French-Italian double diploma) or LCN (Langue et Civilisation Nationale). An English-language European Section is available in History-Geography or Sciences. The baccalaureate results are excellent and enable access to higher education programs in France, Italy and beyond. Facilities include CDI and library resources, a kindergarten-to-lycée library network, a cafeteria at the Malpighi site, and a paid transport service operated with the APE.
