The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme is offered for Grades 11–12, with six subject groups including languages, individuals and societies, experimental sciences, mathematics and computer science, and the arts. To earn the IB Diploma, students sit for examinations in six subject areas at the end of Grade 12 and complete Theory of Knowledge, the Extended Essay, and Creativity, Activity and Service (CAS). Marymount has offered the IB Diploma Programme since 1985, and students consistently achieve results above world averages. In 2024, Diploma Candidates were 54 with a pass rate of 96%.
The arts at Marymount include performing, visual and musical instruction guiding students' creativity and communication. The Arts comprise Music, Visual Arts, and Theater Arts. After-school private music lessons are available, tailored to individual needs. School plays and concerts are part of enrichment activities.
Marymount is a global community made up of over 70 nationalities. Enrichment trips to cultural and artistic sites are part of the program. Model United Nations and Middle School MUN are offered as part of enrichment and leadership activities. The campus is multilingual, with about 50 languages spoken.
Marymount's Student Clubs offer after-school options such as Junior Architects, Multicultural Club, Origami Club, and STEM Club. Secondary School student-led clubs include the Royal Liar (the student newspaper) and the Environmental Club. A broad range of after-school activities supports social and hobby interests across divisions. Private music lessons after school complement the clubs and activities.
Marymount provides leadership and service opportunities throughout the year, including National Honor Society, National Junior Honor Society, Student Council, and the House System, along with leadership conferences and school assemblies. The Abana Project sponsors the RSHM missions in Zambia, with students participating in House System-led projects and fundraising. Students also engage in Regional and Global leadership opportunities through the Global Network of RSHM Schools and Model United Nations conferences. School assemblies give students a platform to present projects and practice service-oriented initiatives.
Marymount offers leadership and service opportunities such as NHS, NJHS, Student Council, House System, and leadership conferences with the Global Network of RSHM Schools, plus Model United Nations conferences. The Abana Project involves students in service and fundraising activities in support of the RSHM mission in Zambia. IB CAS service projects provide structured opportunities to lead and serve within the IB framework, alongside ongoing learning and advisory activities that build Leadership skills.
Sports and athletics are an important part of Marymount life with programs across Early Childhood through Varsity levels. Wellbeing and Support includes English Language Learning (ELL), Learning Support, a School Psychologist, Pet Therapy, and a Health Center to promote physical and mental health. The Elementary School Wellbeing Program covers social-emotional development through Caring School Community activities and topics such as Unity Through Diversity, Coping With Anger, Kindness, and Respecting Differences. The Health Center and School Nurse provide daily care, health screenings, and first-aid readiness on campus.
Marymount International School Rome is a private Catholic, co-educational day school serving ages 2 to 18 in Italy. It delivers English-language American education from pre-K to Grade 12, with the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme offered in Grades 11–12 and Advanced Placement courses available. The campus sits on 40 acres in Veio Park, north of Rome, and features an Early Childhood Center with an Outdoor Playground, Forest School, a FabLab/Art Studios, and dedicated library and music spaces. Language instruction includes Arabic, French, German, Italian, Latin, Mandarin, Spanish, and English; Italian is taught as a first or second language in secondary grades.
