Parent Experience

Community, involvement and what it's like to be a parent at this school

History

World International School of Torino opened its doors in September 2017. The WINS Onlus Foundation was founded in 2011 as Wanda e Francesco Formiga onlus and renamed Fondazione WINS – Onlus in 2021 to support educational and cultural initiatives for young people. The Formiga family has a long history in international education in Italy, dating back to 1958 when Wanda and Francesco Formiga founded the first international school in Italy, the International School of Milano; Paolo Pietro Formiga later founded WINS in 2017. WINS is an IB World School offering the Primary Years Programme, the Middle Years Programme and the Diploma Programme, and it was the first school in Turin to be accredited by Leeds City Council.

Community

World International School of Torino centers on students as the heart of the WINS world; the vision is global citizenship and the mission is day-by-day development. The values are International Citizenship, Excellence, Integrity, Forward Thinking and Passion. The school maintains a truly multicultural context with cutting-edge technology to nurture open-minded, principled, and inquiring citizens of the world. Recent community events include Open Week 2-6 March 2026 and An Evening of Music and Solidarity with The Fixers, with enrollments for the 2026-2027 academic year now open.

Parent-Teacher Association

The WINS Board and management encourage the creation of a Parent Teacher Association. All parents can join the PTA upon enrolling their children in WINS. The PTA is encouraged to take an active role in organizing school parties and to liaise with school management regarding matters of academic interest for each grade. From grade 6 onwards, student representatives are invited to participate.
