Facilities Overview

Sports Facilities

Large playing fields support a wide range of team sports. Covered Tennis/Basketball/Netball courts enable play in various conditions throughout the year. Cricket nets and a cricket wicket are available for practice and matches. The facilities are designed to support competitive inter-school and intra-school sport programmes.

Extra-Curricular Activities

Sport, Music and Drama are important aspects of the school ethos, with Cricket, Rounders and Athletics in the First Term; Hockey and Swimming in the Second Term; and Netball, Rugby and Football in the Third Term. Cross-country running, tennis, dance and gymnastics are other activities offered. Clubs such as Scouts, cookery, Nature, Tae Kwondo, music and Arts & Crafts provide additional opportunities. The year also includes school productions and weekly assemblies.

Braeburn Nanyuki International School is a co-educational international school in Kenya serving ages 2 to 13. It follows the British National Curriculum within the EYFS, on a campus in Nanyuki at the foot of Mt Kenya. The curriculum places English, Mathematics and Science at its core, and introduces Kiswahili from Year 1 and French from Year 3. Subjects include Science, Computing, History, Geography, PE, Swimming, Music, Art and Design Technology, PSHE and RSHE, taught through an enquiry-based, cross-curricular approach with outdoor learning and active engagement with arts and global cultures. The campus features wood-and-stone architecture, large windows, a well-stocked library, a science laboratory and an IT suite, plus extensive playing fields and courts. Extras include an annual school production, Scouts and a wide range of clubs. The mountain setting enhances outdoor learning.
