The school teaches Kiswahili and French as Modern Foreign Languages. Kiswahili is spoken here in Kenya. Children will say some basic Kiswahili words mainly learnt through songs; they will know key words, greetings, and numbers (Year 2 learns the days of the week in Kiswahili and numbers 1–10). In French, children will link keywords to create longer phrases and will understand different tenses; they will be able to read short passages and write sentences using nouns, verbs and adjectives, and they will express more personalised ideas and meanings and engage in longer conversations as they progress.
