Students are taught in a class setting from the Early Years Foundation Stage, with subject teaching introduced gradually by specialist teachers. The majority of students move on to St Andrew's Senior School, and Year 8s do not sit Common Entrance exams. A Learning Success Centre supports individuals with specific difficulties. Progress is monitored by class teachers (Years 1–5) and by tutors (Years 6–13) in small class sizes.
Music and LAMDA are part of the co-curricular life, with peripatetic lessons, group choirs, orchestras and ensembles. When not participating in sport, students study instruments and perform musical pieces, with opportunities to be examined toward ABRSM qualifications. The school hosts its annual Orchestral Weekend, where prep and senior schools collaborate to perform. The calendar includes annual stage productions.
The co-curricular program includes a weekday 45-minute games block and a variety of clubs and activities before, after school and at weekends, including archery, golf and squash. The weekend program emphasizes outdoor exploration and adventure, with camping, kayaking and biking. Prep School pupils join Uniformed Organisations (Guides and Scouts and Chipettes); Senior School students pursue the Turi Leadership Award. Leadership is integrated into activities across the school.
Leadership states that service is a component of leadership and that students maintain a record of sustained contribution to the community. The Turi Leadership Award includes a service strand. Emerging Leaders Foundation accredits the leadership program.
Leadership is a core aim; students develop leadership through workshops, seminars, clubs, sports, boarding life and roles of responsibility. The Prep School uses the 7 Habits as the basis for leadership development. Senior School and Sixth Form College include the Turi Leadership Award, a rigorous two-year course for Years 12–13 with independent assessment points. The program covers self-discipline, leadership theory (a 1500-word extended essay), service, strategic leadership, leading others and developing others.
There is a strong emphasis on activity; prep and senior pupils participate in 45 minutes of high-quality games every weekday, focused on core sports. Horse riding is offered as a distinctive program that builds balance, discipline, confidence and care for animals. The weekend program features outdoor activities such as camping, kayaking and biking. Outdoor life and sport contribute to a balanced lifestyle.
