St Andrew's School, Turi was founded by Peter and Jean Lavers (Ma and Pa) in 1931 with an enrolment of 15 children. A strong Christian ethos guided the school as the Lavers ran it, with Mr Lavers handling administration and Mrs Lavers focusing on academics and pastoral care. In 1988, the Senior School was added, and St Andrew's College opened in September 2010, expanding to educate students aged 5 to 18. In February 1944, a fire destroyed the school except for the chapel, and Italian prisoners of war helped rebuild the school. Today the school has over 620 pupils.
As a Round Square School, St Andrew's Turi is committed to protecting the environment and hosts student-led environmental groups that work with the Estate Team on recycling, biodiversity, sustainable energy, and indigenous forests. The school emphasizes community relations and Corporate Social Responsibility, working with local police, government and community leaders to positively impact the local area. Key community projects include providing a regular supply of clean water to the local village, running a nursery school for workforce children, fundraising for local charities, and sending students into the community to support projects. Parents are invited to the school on six VISOs weekends each year.
