Let the school know you're thinking of applying — they can share their prerequisites and help you through the process.
It's best to ask — circumstances can change at any time.
Visit the school. You can make an appointment with the admissions team to tour the school grounds and facilities. This is a good opportunity to see the learning spaces and get a feel for the school environment.
Submit an application. After your visit, you will need to complete an application form and submit it along with the required documents. These include copies of your child's and your own identity documents, previous school reports, and passport-sized photos. A non-refundable application fee is required at this stage.
Entrance Test. Your child will need to take an entrance test to assess their learning skills and language proficiency. The type of test depends on the year group: Reception applicants undergo a two-day in-class observation, while older students take written or online tests (CAT4 and NGRT).
Interview. Based on the test results, you and your child will be invited for an interview with the relevant Head of School. This is a chance for the school to learn more about your child and for you to ask any remaining questions. Following the interview, the school will inform you if a place can be offered.
The school does not operate a formal waitlist system. Applications are accepted throughout the year, but places are limited in each class and year group.
MIGS offers a limited number of academic scholarships for both new and existing students in Years 9, 10, and 11. These scholarships provide a 25% discount on tuition fees and are awarded based on high academic achievement, English fluency, active participation in co-curricular activities, and leadership potential. The scholarships are reviewed annually and are dependent on the student maintaining their academic performance and conduct. The application process typically involves submitting an application form, academic transcripts, letters of recommendation, and a CV.
Mutiara International Grammar School (MIGS) offers a British-style education for students aged 3 to 16, following the Cambridge Assessment International Education pathway and culminating in the IGCSE examinations. Facilities include five science laboratories and two computer labs. A distinctive feature of the school is its weekly themed assemblies for both Junior and Senior schools. These assemblies provide a platform for students to develop public speaking, acting, and other theatrical skills. For younger students, there is a "Reading Olympics" to encourage reading.
