Parent Experience

Community, involvement and what it's like to be a parent at this school

History

Mutiara International Grammar School was established in 1997. The school's name, "Mutiara," is the Malay word for pearl, reflecting the school's philosophy of nurturing students to develop their potential.

Community

The school has a diverse community with over 300 students from 25 different nationalities, creating a multicultural environment. A variety of events are held throughout the academic year to foster a sense of community. These include school assemblies, charity bazaars, fundraisers, and performances that are open to the wider school community.

Parent-Teacher Association

The school does not publicly mention a formal PTA, although it emphasizes a "friendly and familial atmosphere" and encourages parent involvement. The school has a "Parent Portal" for news and information, and parents are welcome to attend many of the school's events.
