Sunway International School Sunway City Kuala Lumpur is part of the Sunway Education Group with over 30 years of education experience. Deposit, international-admin and other recurring mandatory items

Billing schedule and payment terms
- Academic year structure: two semesters per year; each semester is six (6) months. Semester fees are invoiced per semester and are payable prior to the commencement of each new semester.
- Registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.
- Deposit refund condition: the academic deposit is refundable only upon completion of Year 11 / Grade 11 or IBDP Year 2 at the school, or if one semester's (6 months) notice of withdrawal is received while the student is still studying.

Boarding fees (SIS House)
- Application (SIS House): RM 1,000 — non-refundable and non-transferable.
- Boarding deposit (Key, Card & Rental): RM 1,500.
- Boarding fee (SIS House): RM 12,000 per semester. Annual equivalent RM 24,000. Boarding fee is payable prior to the commencement of each new semester.
- SIS House Meal Plan: RM 5,750 per semester (Monday–Friday: breakfast, lunch and dinner; Saturday: breakfast and lunch; excludes Sundays, public holidays and school holidays).
- The boarding fee covers accommodation, laundry services, housekeeping, allotted utilities, Wi‑Fi and security services; failure to settle boarding fees by the advised date may result in disruption to these services.

Sunway International School Sunway City teaches Canadian Curriculum, Cambridge (Primary), Cambridge (Secondary), Cambridge IGCSE, Cambridge A Levels, IB (DP) for students aged 4 to 18.

Curriculum

Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), Sunway Cambridge International Programme, and International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) are offered. The Canadian (Ontario) curriculum is licensed and inspected annually by the Ontario Ministry of Education to grant credits leading to the OSSD. The Cambridge Curriculum is offered as part of SISKL, with Cambridge pathways that include Cambridge IGCSE, and students may continue to the IB Diploma Programme or Cambridge A Levels after Cambridge. The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme is delivered as an IB World School programme. These internationally recognised qualifications enable progression to top-tier universities and professional studies worldwide.

Higher Education Progression

Ontario (OSSD), Cambridge International Programme, and IB Diploma Programme are internationally recognised qualifications that enable entry to top-tier universities worldwide. The Ontario curriculum provides credits toward the OSSD as licensed by the Ontario MOE; Cambridge is recognised by universities globally; IB DP is delivered as part of SIS's IB World School status to support higher education progression.

Wellbeing

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)

The school provides a comfortable and supportive environment conducive for every student to excel not just academically, but also personally, emotionally and socially. Guidance counsellors serve as mentors, advisers and friends and are integral to every student's well-being at SIS. The Guidance & Counselling program focuses on three goals: Academic Achievement, Personal and Social Development, and Career Awareness, with services including individual and group academic counselling, classroom guidance and university admission assistance. The program supports Personal Development Activities and engages families through workshops and sessions to promote student well-being.

English as an Additional Language (EAL)

The medium of instruction is English. English language support for non-native speakers is provided through English Support programmes to develop proficiency in English. English for Academic Purposes (EAP) helps Middle–High School students by allowing them to join the school one semester early to focus on English. Advisory sessions in Middle School improve reading and writing, while English as a Second Language (ESL) offers multiple levels to help High School students progress to grade-level English.

Mental Wellbeing

Guidance & Counselling is centred on student well-being as a core aim, with counsellors acting as mentors, advisors and friends. The program promotes Academic Achievement, Personal and Social Development, and Career Awareness, and provides individual and group academic counselling, classroom guidance and university admissions support to foster students' emotional and social well-being.

Safeguarding

A Safe Campus prioritises safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of students. On-campus safety measures include social distancing, hand-washing facilities and the wearing of face masks, with online learning continuity planned to ensure learning experiences are sustained when needed.

Admissions

Admissions

Step 1: Application. Complete the Application Form and Preliminary Review Form and prepare the documents listed in the Admissions Checklist. The Admissions Office address is Sunway International School (KL), PT 1379, Jalan Subang 1, USJ 1, 47600 Subang Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia, and payment instructions are available on request. Intake is available for Canadian (Ontario) Kindergarten (4–6 years), Primary (Grades 1–5), Middle School (Grades 6–8), High School (Grades 9–11), Cambridge (IGCSE) for Elementary (Years 1–6) with a July intake from 2025 onward, Lower Secondary (Years 7–9), Upper Secondary (Years 10–11), Cambridge (A Level) Sixth Form (Years 12–13), and IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) Year 1, with various January/July start options. Step 2: Readiness Assessment (Grade 3 / Year 4 onwards). Applicants enrolling for Grade 3 / Year 4 and above must meet the minimum English and Mathematics requirements to determine eligibility for the grade applied, and will be contacted to schedule the readiness assessment with the Admissions Office. Step 3: Admissions. Applicants who satisfy the admission requirements will be offered a place of study in writing, and successful applicants must accept the offer and make the necessary payments to secure the place. Admissions Checklist (summary): provide copies of identity documents, birth certificates, passport photos, three to six years of academic results, parent/guardian IDs or passports, and any applicable school leaving certificates or embassy-endorsed documents; international students may require a visa and support from the International Office. Note: international students require a Malaysia-issued student visa; the International Office provides visa guidance and related support.

Scholarships

Sunway International Schools offer Academic, Music & Sports, and IBDP Entrance Scholarships, plus a Sixth Form/IB Diploma Entrance Scholarship. Scholarships primarily take the form of tuition-fee waivers (not cash awards). A Grade 7 (Ontario) / Year 8 (Cambridge) scholarship provides a 25% tuition waiver for the January intake; Year 10 Cambridge scholarship can be 25% or 100% depending on eligibility, with a selection process that includes interview and written personal essay. The IBDP Entrance Scholarship amount varies by academic results, with higher results yielding larger tuition waivers, and is available for new admissions into the Sixth Form / IBDP. A Music & Sports Scholarship provides a 25% tuition waiver for qualified students; eligibility requires excellence in a recognized music or sport discipline and meeting other admission criteria. The Family Bursary offers tiered discounts (5% to 15%) for eligible families, including children of alumni and/or siblings, and applies to tuition fees only. How to apply: complete the respective Scholarship Application Form and submit with documents (latest final year results, recommendation letter, etc.) by the published deadlines (1 December for January intake, or 1 June for July intake in some cases); interviews may be required. Eligibility and detailed criteria vary by scholarship type (Grade level, sport/music achievements, exam results, and conduct). These scholarships and bursaries are designed to support students pursuing academic, musical, sports, or IB pathways within Sunway International Schools.
