Co-curricular activities are offered to all students in PK to Grade 12 and take place on the ASM campus at the end of the school day, every day of the week. Academic offerings include Debating, Drama, Environmental Awareness, Model United Nations, Robotics, Spanish Classes, Creative Writing, and Communication & Media. An after-school Math contest is also offered.
After-school artistic options include Arts & Crafts, Guitar, Dance, Pottery, Gardening, Yearbook, and Arabic Calligraphy. The broader after-school program also features visual arts, choir, drama, and modern dance. Activities are offered by ASM teachers as well as outside providers.
Moroccan Arabic language classes are offered, along with Spanish classes. Arabic Calligraphy is part of the artistic offerings.
Chess, Outreach Activities, School Newspaper, Student Council, and Service Learning are among the interest-based co-curricular activities. They take place on the ASM campus at the end of the school day, every day of the week. Co-curricular activities are offered to all PK-12 students.
Outreach Activities and Service Learning promote community service on campus and in local initiatives.
Student Council provides leadership opportunities. Debating and Model United Nations help develop communication, critical thinking, and teamwork.
ASM has a dedicated Physical Education program with a varied schedule of sports and activities. Its athletic teams compete in inter-school and MASAC regional tournaments. The campus includes two full-size soccer fields to support athletics.
Located on an 8-hectare campus, the American School of Marrakesh provides PK-12 education for ages 3 to 18. It is a college-preparatory school governed by the Board of Trustees of the American School of Tangier Corporation (ASTC) and recognized by the U.S. Department of State as one of five American schools in Morocco. The campus is the largest PK-12 campus in Morocco, with classrooms, labs and performance spaces. ASM offers a dual-path curriculum: an American Curriculum with AP options and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). The Upper School follows AERO standards and culminates in the IBDP, with core subjects in English, Math, Science, Social Studies and World Languages, including French and Arabic, with a trilingual emphasis in Upper School. Diploma Programme covers languages, individuals & societies, sciences, mathematics and the arts, with CAS, EE and TOK; 27 IBDP credits are required. Carolyn L.
