The American School of Marrakesh is governed by the Board of Trustees of the American School of Tangier Corporation (ASTC), a United States non-profit corporation registered in Morocco. It is one of three American schools in Morocco, along with the American School of Tangier (AST) and the American School of Benguerir (ASB). The three schools are governed by the ASTC Board. ASM is one of five schools recognized under the Bilateral Agreement signed by the United States Government and the Government of Morocco in 2013.
The ASM community includes Our Team, PTO, Alumni Network, Newsletters, and Supporting ASM as part of Our Community. The Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) is open to all ASM parents and has a leadership team comprising President Nathalie Samake, Vice President Sana Sarkis, Treasurer Jeff Vanness, Secretary Carole Grasset, Events Coordinator TaNesha Barnes, Lower School Representative Kelly MacMartin, Upper School Representative Andrew Coon, and Head of School Representative Stephen Morison. PTO Activities include fundraising for special projects and events, such as Book Week, International Fairs, Career Fairs, Science Fairs, Sports Days, and Bake Sales; the group promotes cultural integration and understanding; creates orientation and mentorship programs for new families and teachers; volunteers for field trips and extracurricular programs; forms clubs; assists with communications; sponsors teacher appreciation efforts; helps with transportation; serves as ambassadors for ASM; and aims to have fun.

The PTO leadership includes President Nathalie Samake, Vice President Sana Sarkis, Treasurer Jeff Vanness, Secretary Carole Grasset, Events Coordinator TaNesha Barnes, Lower School Representative Kelly MacMartin, Upper School Representative Andrew Coon, and Head of School Representative Stephen Morison. PTO activities include fundraising for projects and organizing events (Book Week, International Fairs, Career Fairs, Science Fairs, Sports Days, Bake Sales) to promote cultural integration and understanding; establish orientation/mentorship programs for new families and staff; volunteer for field trips and in-class support; form clubs; assist with communications; sponsor teacher appreciation efforts; coordinate transportation; and act as ambassadors for ASM. The PTO is a part of ASM and works directly with the headmaster and teachers, not governing academics or budgeting. All parents, faculty, and staff are welcome to participate, and a small number of high school students are invited to participate.
Located on an 8-hectare campus, the American School of Marrakesh provides PK-12 education for ages 3 to 18. It is a college-preparatory school governed by the Board of Trustees of the American School of Tangier Corporation (ASTC) and recognized by the U.S. Department of State as one of five American schools in Morocco. The campus is the largest PK-12 campus in Morocco, with classrooms, labs and performance spaces. ASM offers a dual-path curriculum: an American Curriculum with AP options and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). The Upper School follows AERO standards and culminates in the IBDP, with core subjects in English, Math, Science, Social Studies and World Languages, including French and Arabic, with a trilingual emphasis in Upper School. Diploma Programme covers languages, individuals & societies, sciences, mathematics and the arts, with CAS, EE and TOK; 27 IBDP credits are required. Carolyn L.
