Boarding Arrangements

Boarding at DAS began in September 2025 and accepts students aged 12 and above in grades 7 to 10. Dorms include an in-house Atelier media lab, two quiet study areas, a common area, a reception and outdoor patio, with a fully equipped kitchen based on the Life Xperience model, and meals provided (breakfast, lunch and dinner plus healthy snacks). An on-site nurse and infirmary are available, and the dorms feature state-of-the-art security with CCTV and floor-specific swipe-card access, with boarding staff living on-site full-time for mentorship and supervision. Boarding students have access to a wide range of academic, athletic and artistic opportunities seven days a week, and English is the primary language of instruction while Arabic and French are actively used daily.

Food Options

Meals are provided in the dorms: breakfast, lunch and dinner, plus healthy snacks, all planned by a nutritionist.

Governance and Ownership

The school is owned and operated by Education Development Company (EDC), a leading private education provider in Morocco; DAS is part of EDC's network of international schools.

Dar Essalam American School is a co-educational international day school in Rabat offering an American curriculum with the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme for Grades 11–12. The school serves learners from ages 3 to 17 and sits on a five-hectare campus in Hay Riad neighborhood. Early childhood uses a Finnish preschool curriculum, with play-based, holistic development; elementary combines core subjects with art, music, crafts and PE, while Arabic and French begin in the early years. Middle school features a Makerspace and a Life X-perience course, building project-based learning and language proficiency. In high school, American courses run alongside international language and cultural studies, with electives in art and design and a Personalized Learning Plan. The program culminates in an American diploma, with the IB Diploma available in Grades 11–12. Facilities include a Black Box Theater and a Makerspace; boarding is offered for Grades 7–10; campus supports well-being and leadership through 5Cs.
