Academic and Intellectual

RAS provides Service Learning that connects academics to real-world contexts, engaging students with their communities. Service Learning builds awareness and social responsibility through organized field trips and community-service hours integrated into the curriculum, aligning with the IB CAS framework for leadership, collaboration, and reflective practice. Week Without Walls (WWW) trips at the start of the school year blend adventure, cultural exploration, and service as a cornerstone of secondary learning.

Arts and Creative

Fine Arts promote a well-rounded education by exploring artistic talents. Visual Arts offers PreK-12 opportunities in drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital arts, emphasizing self-expression, technique, and collaboration. Band supports students in grades 6-10 to learn instruments, rehearse, and perform, building discipline and community. Drama for grades 6-10 focuses on acting, storytelling, and collaboration, while STEAM integrates science, engineering, arts, and mathematics through hands-on projects.

Cultural and Language

English is the primary language of instruction. World Languages provides parallel tracks for learners of French and Arabic, aiming to progressively attain fluency. In Elementary, learners also participate in weekly French and Arabic classes and Moroccan studies to deepen cultural understanding.

Social and Hobbies

Student Organizations foster leadership, teamwork, and a sense of belonging outside the classroom, offering opportunities for personal growth and to explore students' interests. Athletics and activities also encourage teamwork and personal development; students participate in a range of on- and off-campus programs.

Community and Service

Service Learning builds awareness and responsibility through Community Partnerships, Week Without Walls trips, and CAS opportunities. Community partnerships connect students with local organizations to enrich learning, while WWW trips blend adventure, cultural exploration, and service. The CAS program develops student leadership, collaboration, and civic responsibility.

Leadership and Professional

The CAS program is an IB requirement that develops leadership, creativity, activity, and service through student-led initiatives. WWW trips foster teamwork and leadership among secondary students, while community service initiatives cultivate social responsibility and professional skills.

Lifestyle and Wellbeing

RAS provides health and wellness supports including two on-campus registered nurses, health screenings, and confidential student health records. School counselors support students' emotional, social, and academic well-being, with PBIS (RAS ROCKS) guiding behavior. Peer mediation offers students trained to help peers resolve conflicts, contributing to a safe and supportive school climate.

Rabat American School is a private, non‑profit American independent Pre‑K–12 school in Rabat with American country affiliation. The campus sits on the Rabat corniche waterfront and comprises nine buildings that house science labs, a STEAM Lab, Visual Arts rooms, a 300‑seat performing arts center, a learning commons, a cafeteria, a gym, and an indoor pool, with outdoor basketball courts, a soccer field, and a track. The school offers an English‑language, standards‑based curriculum and awards both the American High School Diploma and the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB DP). It is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and has offered the IB Diploma Program since 1992. Founded in 1962 to serve American Embassy families, the school relocated to waterfront campus in 2019. The Secondary School (Grades 6–12) emphasizes a globally oriented program and real‑world learning, supported by service learning, arts, athletics, and leadership activities, including Week Without Walls.
