Amersfoort International School is housed in a light and spacious building on Noordewierweg in Amersfoort, shared with primary school De Kubus. The building was renovated in 2023 to reflect the vision and programme of AIS. The site features a large natural playground that supports learning through play, discovery and inquiry. AIS is located about a 20-minute walk from Amersfoort Central Station. There is a direct bus from the station to Noordewierweg, and the school is easily accessed by car.
The Library at AIS, redesigned in collaboration with De Kubus, is a welcoming space where students from both schools can read, learn, and connect. Due to a partnership with De Bibliotheek Eemland, the library offers a wide and diverse collection of Dutch and English books. The collection is being expanded to include books in home languages of international families, such as Chinese, Romanian and Portuguese. The library's opening underscores AIS's emphasis on reading and language development and on strengthening community ties.
Afterschool care is provided in partnership with Partou from 14:35 to 18:30, Monday to Friday, with safe, supervised transport to De Kubus's Spaarnestraat location. Preschool for 2- to 4-year-olds is available from 8:30 to 14:00 at nearby Partou locations, and Partou also offers daycare for children aged 0 to 4 in Amersfoort. Cycling lessons are offered by partner providers through Cycling Lessons, including Fiets met me mee (Cycle With Me) and Samen Opfietsen (Cycling Together), teaching balance, confidence and traffic safety.
Amersfoort International School (AIS) offers English-language international primary education for children aged 4 to 12 and follows the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme as an official IB World School since September 2025. Located in Amersfoort, AIS shares a light, spacious building on Noordewierweg with De Kubus and is part of the AnnoNu school board. The school opened in 2023–2024 and operates in a renovated facility that features a large natural playground to support learning through play, discovery and inquiry. AIS emphasizes inclusion and equal opportunities with a mission of 'Learning for all' and a transdisciplinary, inquiry-based PYP curriculum that integrates across traditional subjects. Facilities include a collaborative library developed with De Kubus and De Bibliotheek Eemland, offering Dutch and English titles and growing multilingual collections. After-school care via Partou, cycling lessons, and Dutch language immersion strengthen community ties and language development. AIS aims to empower internationally minded and successful learners.
