AIS started in the 2023-2024 school year. AIS is a member of the AnnoNu school board and linked to the Dutch primary school De Kubus. AIS offers English-language international primary education for children from 4 to 12 years old in a newly renovated school building on Noordewierweg in Amersfoort. The school became an official IB World School in September 2025.
AIS is a community school in the city of Amersfoort with a diverse and multinational student body. AIS cooperates with local and international communities to learn from each other and share educational practices with Dutch schools in the region. AIS has hosted events such as the opening of its reimagined Library at School in partnership with primary school De Kubus. AIS celebrated Sinterklaas with partner school De Kubus.

Facilities include a collaborative library developed with De Kubus and De Bibliotheek Eemland, offering Dutch and English titles and growing multilingual collections. After-school care via Partou, cycling lessons, and Dutch language immersion strengthen community ties and language development. AIS aims to empower internationally minded and successful learners.
