Parent Experience

Community, involvement and what it's like to be a parent at this school

Community

International School Almere offers a secondary IB programme for students aged 12 to 18 within a diverse, intercultural learning community. Its mission is to inspire students to reach their full potential through academic excellence, intercultural awareness, and mutual respect within a diverse, caring community. The school celebrates every culture and language, including International Mother Language Week. The campus is centrally located in Almere, near Amsterdam, and the building is accessible to wheelchair users.

Parent-Teacher Association

Parent Support Group (PSG) represents a collaborative entity comprising parents and ISAlmere staff members. The PSG coordinates the talents and availability of parents to provide support for educational provisions and extracurricular activities. Parent representatives serve as a channel for general ideas, initiatives, and concerns not specific to individual students, with the aim of having at least one representative per grade. The PSG bridges cultural, linguistic, and knowledge gaps for expat families and helps organize school and community events more effectively. To join, please email psg@isalmere.nl with your name, your child's grade, areas of interest, and preferred contact method.
