Salto International School is an international primary school offering bilingual education; 50% of lessons are taught in English and 50% in Dutch for children temporarily living in Eindhoven and the surrounding area. The IPC (International Primary Curriculum) underpins the entire curriculum, providing depth and breadth to learning, with all subjects taught in both languages. The school welcomes families of all nationalities and cultures; language development is the focus in a language-friendly environment, with cultural diversity and sensitivity central to school life. Graduates are supported to become bilingual or multilingual, with the option to continue in a regular Dutch secondary school or in an international secondary school.
Salto International School has a parent-teacher association (PTA) that represents parents and teachers from both RISE and I-St@rt and is a legally mandated entity. The PTA helps staff create the best school environment, organizes events, and shapes policies, including holiday schedules and information flow. The PTA comprises three parents and two teachers from each location to represent all parties involved. Communication with the PTA occurs via email and the school app Parro; coffee mornings for parents are organized to foster engagement, and Dutch courses for parents are offered. The PTA collaborates with the school to ensure governance and policy decisions reflect the needs of families.
