Parent Experience

Community, involvement and what it's like to be a parent at this school

History

Lord Byron School was founded on October 27, 1983 by Miss Janeth Urday Cáceres. The first campus was in Camacho, Surco, with 30 students; a 4,000 m² site was acquired for the Sol de la Molina campus, which opened in 1986. In the early 1990s the school added secondary education and English became the language of instruction as the institution became bilingual. The school earned authorization to offer all three IB programmes (Primary Years Programme, Middle Years Programme, Diploma Programme) in 2011, and in 2013 formed a Cambridge partnership to become an authorised Cambridge examination centre.

Community

Lord Byron School fosters a vibrant, internationally oriented community. The curriculum includes arts, culture, and sports, with students competing in events such as ADECOPA, Byron Got Talent, and choir contests. The Vida Estudiantil program offers international experiences, including exchanges to the US, France, Canada, the UK, and more, plus MUN, Winter Camp, and Summer Camp programs; language study in English, French, and Mandarin is supported by a strategic alliance with INECO PERU and ICEF and the backing of the British Embassy. Parents participate through a grade‑level Parents Committee and a Parent School program, with regular meetings and communications via SIANET and Class Dojo.

Parent-Teacher Association

A Parents Committee exists in every grade and serves as the liaison with the school. The Parents Committee runs the Parent School program and facilitates periodic meetings with grade representatives. The school holds informational meetings on academic progress with teachers and supports family communication through SIANET (the academic intranet) and institutional email. Class Dojo is used to reinforce the school's profile attributes and promote parent–school engagement.
