Parent Experience

Community, involvement and what it's like to be a parent at this school

History

Jubilee Christian Academy (JCA) began in 1967 as Jubilee Christian Elementary School in Matienza, San Miguel, Manila. MECS granted full recognition to the JCES Kindergarten Department in 1968, JCES graduated its first elementary class in 1969, and government recognition for a complete six-year elementary course followed in 1973. In 1980 JCES moved from a wooden building in Matienza to the concrete building in New Manila, Quezon City, received a special permit for the High School Department, and was named Jubilee Christian High School; in 1986 the school was renamed Jubilee Christian Academy. From 1995 onward, JCA expanded its campuses and programs, including Preschool property acquisition and campus growth, the adoption of the K-12 program in 2015 and blended e-learning, and PAASCU activity beginning in 2013 with the 50th Foundation Anniversary celebrated in 2017. In 2013 DepEd required a separate identity from the Foundation, and JCA was incorporated as a separate legal entity; Jubilee Center was completed in 2022 as part of ongoing campus expansions.

Community

JCA's school community includes the Jubilee Christian Academy Parents Auxiliary (JCAPA), which supports scholarships, mooncake festivals, and Community Exposure for students. They sponsor Appreciation Day and Christmas Day for the welfare of the faculty and staff, and the parents group also organizes seminars and maintains a communications network for all parents. The school also fosters an Alumni network and a broader community connected through Our Community programs, with a Community Service initiative created in 2021. A Varsity Support Group and Basketball Management (VSG) engages parents in athletics and supports student life.

Parent-Teacher Association

Jubilee Christian Academy Parents Auxiliary (JCAPA) is the school's Parent Teacher Association. JCAPA supports programs such as scholarship, mooncake festivals, and Community Exposure for the benefit of the students. They sponsor Appreciation Day and Christmas Day for the welfare of the Faculty/Staff. The parents group also organizes seminars and a communications network for the service of all parents. JCAPA News pages show governance and community activities, including a General Assembly in 2023 and events such as Chinese New Year greetings. JCAPA works in concert with the Varsity Support Group (VSG) to support athletics and student life.
