Let the school know you're thinking of applying — they can share their prerequisites and help you through the process.
It's best to ask — circumstances can change at any time.
1. Enrolment takes place throughout the whole school year. It is possible to enrol a child during the school year at any stage of education. The school address is ul. bł. Królowej Jadwigi 27,28, Szczecin, 70-262.
2. Required documents: the application form is downloadable; provide a copy of the childs birth certificate; provide a certificate of completion of the previous school year (or a semester grades report for enrolment during the school year). Additionally, if the child was diagnosed in a psychological/pedagogical counselling centre, supply the opinion.
3. Trial days: candidates are invited for trial days, during which placement tests are conducted and teachers' comments about the child are collected; parents receive feedback on the students level of education; the child has the opportunity to meet peers in the classroom and experience education in an international school.
4. Diagnostic tests and grade-level testing: diagnostic tests are usually carried out during trial days, but if attendance is not possible, diagnostic tests can be arranged. Grade-level testing is described by level: Primary (Reception Year to Grade 3) tests are conducted during trial days or interviews; Grades 4-5 test in Mother Tongue, English and Maths; Middle (Grade 6-10) tests include Mother Tongue, English, Maths and Combined Science; Diploma (Grade 11) tests include Language A (Polish, German, Danish), English, Maths, and one or two science subjects, with additional requirements depending on the chosen IBDP subjects.
Szczecin International School is an IB World School serving students aged 3 to 18, offering the full IB continuum from Primary Years Programme (PYP) through Middle Years Programme (MYP) to the Diploma Programme (DP). English is the language of instruction in most subjects, with Polish, German, English and Danish taught as additional languages, supporting multilingual competence and global awareness. Established in 2002 in connection with the NATO Corps, the school has grown to occupy a building in Szczecin's city centre and to expand its IB accreditation across all levels (DP 2005; PYP and MYP authorised in 2021). The campus features 26 classrooms, level sections for each programme, a laboratory, two computer labs, an art studio, a music room and a well-stocked library of around 21,000 items. Students engage in inquiry-based learning, personal projects, and international initiatives such as Model United Nations, with an emphasis on community service and character development.
