Szczecin International School was established in 2002 in connection with the NATO Corps in Szczecin, and its first location was the historic building at 49 Mickiewicza Street. It also occupied the Starzyńskiego Street building in the Wały Chrobrego area for several years. In 2016 the school relocated to a central building on Bl. Królowej Jadwigi Street, in the city centre, with plans to modernise and expand. The school gained IB accreditation at the Diploma level in 2005, and the Primary and Middle levels were authorised by the IB in 2021. It is the first and the only school in Szczecin to teach the IB programme at every educational level, and is one of five IB schools in Poland.
Our students form an international community from 21 countries around the world. Pupils and teachers come from 17 different countries. English is the language of instruction in almost all subjects, with Polish, German, English, and Danish taught as national/foreign languages. The school is located at ul. bł. Królowej Jadwigi 27-28, Szczecin.
The SIS School Board is an advisory and supportive body to the school management. Meetings are held twice per semester. The SIS School-Board consists of the school management, IB programme coordinators, teacher representatives, NATO CORPS representatives, NATO parent representatives of German, Danish and other nationalities, Polish parent representatives and representatives of parents of other nationalities.
Szczecin International School is an IB World School serving students aged 3 to 18, offering the full IB continuum from Primary Years Programme (PYP) through Middle Years Programme (MYP) to the Diploma Programme (DP). English is the language of instruction in most subjects, with Polish, German, English and Danish taught as additional languages, supporting multilingual competence and global awareness. Established in 2002 in connection with the NATO Corps, the school has grown to occupy a building in Szczecin's city centre and to expand its IB accreditation across all levels (DP 2005; PYP and MYP authorised in 2021). The campus features 26 classrooms, level sections for each programme, a laboratory, two computer labs, an art studio, a music room and a well-stocked library of around 21,000 items. Students engage in inquiry-based learning, personal projects, and international initiatives such as Model United Nations, with an emphasis on community service and character development.
