ACS Doha International School began as the overseas campus of ACS International Schools, which was founded in London in 1967. The Doha campus opened in 2011, establishing ACS's first overseas school in Qatar. In 2014, ACS Doha earned full accreditation from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and IB authorization for the Middle Years Programme and Diploma Programme. A modern landmark campus opened in August 2020 to accommodate growth and enhanced facilities. In 2024 the Doha campus was sold to Artemis Education, and ACS Doha became part of Artemis Education; NEASC conducted its last visit in 2024.
The ACS Doha community is diverse, with more than 900 students from over 72 nationalities and about 100 staff. Community events include International Day, Cultural Awareness Week, and Family Fun Day, with the PSO coordinating parent involvement and charitable activities. In 2022 International Day was held at the new campus with country pavilions and a student parade. The school has hosted additional gatherings and conferences to promote family engagement, such as Pathways to Tomorrow seminars and the EdTech Conference.
ACS Doha's PTA-equivalent is the Parent School Organisation (PSO), which coordinates volunteer involvement, fundraising, and community activities. Family Fun Day is organized by the PSO and brings together around 1,500 students, 85 staff, and families. The PSO has organized the International Cultural Fair during Cultural Awareness Week, with country tables and student-led learning. The PSO has supported charitable initiatives, such as coordinating donations to the Qatar Animal Welfare Society (QAWS) at Family Fun Day. The PSO also coordinates involvement in International Day at the new campus and collaborates with school leadership to foster a welcoming, diverse community.
