How students are nurtured, understood, and kept safe

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)

ACS Doha's Approach to Learning describes the environment as academically rigorous and emotionally supportive, with an explicit aim that all students feel happy and supported in their education and wellbeing.

Special Educational Needs (SEN)

Learning Support specialists design individualized learning plans (ILPs) with clear goals and targeted strategies; Learning Support and English as an Additional Language (EAL) are woven into daily classroom life, and the kinds of SEN supported are not specified.

English as an Additional Language (EAL)

Students developing proficiency in English receive additional language instruction while remaining in mainstream learning, with EAL teachers collaborating to strengthen reading, writing, speaking and listening, and direct EAL support is gradually reduced as fluency improves.

Mental Wellbeing

The learning approach emphasizes emotional wellbeing, describing the environment as emotionally supportive and addressing personal physical, emotional and social well-being.

Safeguarding

ACS Doha is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting welfare; all staff are trained to identify and respond to concerns, there is a designated Safeguarding Lead, mandatory reporting, safe recruitment, and student education on safety and online behavior, guided by international child protection standards and ICMEC.
