The American School of Doha (ASD) is located in the Al Waab/Al Soudan District of Doha, Qatar. It is accessible from Al Waab and Salwa roads, and visitors commonly enter via Gate 8 when on campus. The campus sits in a residential/educational area that serves Doha's western suburbs.
ASD serves Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12. The school is organized into four divisions: Lower Elementary, Upper Elementary, Middle School, and High School.
Independent, U.S.-accredited, college-preparatory co-educational day school.
ASD represents more than 80 nationalities. The largest groups are Americans and Canadians, with a highly international student body.
ASD admits students who meet grade-level expectations. Admission for students needing limited support is considered on a case-by-case basis, and ASD does not offer the full continuum of special education programs. The school has limited resources for extensive SEN needs. The High School offers a Learning Support program with small-group and in-class support.

The school day runs 8:00 am–3:00 pm for Kindergarten through Grade 12, and 8:00 am–12:30 pm for Pre-Kindergarten, Sunday through Thursday. On Tuesdays of a full-school week, dismissal is at 12:30 pm.

The American School of Doha offers a PreK–12 program and is NEASC-accredited, with the last accreditation visit in 2021. The school teaches in English and is an IB World School offering the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme for Grades 11–12, alongside an Advanced Placement track for high school students. The AP program includes courses across sciences, math, English, social studies, and languages, such as Biology, Calculus AB/BC, Statistics, Chemistry, Physics 1 and 2, Environmental Science, English Language & Composition, English Literature & Composition, World History, U.S. Government & Politics, Comparative Government & Politics, Seminar, U.S. History, Computer Science A, Research, Computer Science Principles, French Language & Culture, and Spanish Language & Culture. The IB Diploma Programme offers a broad range of HL/SL courses across biology, chemistry, physics, economics, psychology, history, global politics, mathematics (Analysis and Approaches; Applications and Interpretations), the arts (Visual Arts, Theater/Film), English Language/Literature, and Language B options (French, Spanish, Arabic). The High School Diploma path is a college-preparatory program aligned to the American Education Reaches Out (AERO) standards and the Common Core, with a 25-credit graduation requirement across core subjects plus Fine Arts and World Languages; Physical Education follows SHAPE America standards, and there is structured college counseling to support university admissions.
