Boarding, Uniform and Food

Daily life details and school culture

Boarding Arrangements

ASD is a day school; there are no boarding facilities. It does not offer full boarding, weekly boarding, or flexi-boarding options. For families needing transport support, ASD provides transportation services before and after school through a third-party provider.

Uniform Requirement

ASD uses a formal uniform. Shirts must have collars; polo-style shirts must be solid-colored, and Oxford shirts or button-down blouses are not permitted. The uniform color palette varies by grade level, and uniforms must be purchased from designated vendors (no campus sales).

Food Options

Cafeteria services are available for students in Grade 1 through Grade 12, offering healthy lunches. There is a fresh juice and smoothie bar provided by Jazz Cafe, and snacks and coffee are available from Coffee Beanery.

Governance and Ownership

ASD is a non-profit educational institution governed jointly by a Board of Trustees and a Board of Directors. The Chairperson of the Board of Trustees is the Ambassador of the United States of America. The Board of Directors comprises twelve members, including three elected by ASD parents and nine appointed by the U.S. Ambassador; the boards oversee policies, budgets, and school performance.
