ASD runs an Elementary Guidance program delivered by a school counselor who meets with each class biweekly and provides individual and small‑group support, embedding ASD values of Respect, Honesty, Responsibility, and Compassion.
ASD does not offer the full continuum of special education programs and admits students who meet grade‑level expectations; admission for students needing limited support is evaluated case by case based on the level of support ASD can provide, and ASD is not a specialist SEN institution.
ASD provides an English as an Additional Language (EAL) program designed for students who are in the process of acquiring fluency in English to succeed in their core content classes.
ASD provides a comprehensive Counseling program across divisions, including Middle School's 'Strong Kids, Safe Kids' offering classroom guidance, individual and small-group counseling, and advisory activities, and High School counseling supporting academic, career, and social‑emotional development.
ASD has a Child Safeguarding Policy and Procedures Handbook, with mandated reporting to the divisional Designated Lead (Counselor), safe recruitment practices, and a Code of Conduct, aligned with NEASC standards.
