Durham School for Girls Doha opened in 2019 as the first international sister school of Durham School UK. The first cohort joined in August 2019, and the official opening took place in October 2019 at Al Messila Resort and Spa, with the Minister of Education in attendance. Vanessa Whay served as the founding principal. The campus is purpose-built and located in Al Messila, Doha, delivering a British curriculum from Early Years to A Levels. The school is part of the International Schools Partnership (ISP) network, linking it to a global learning community.
Durham School for Girls Doha presents an all-girls community anchored in Qatari culture and Islamic values, with English and Arabic guiding global engagement. The House system and buddy mentoring connect students across year groups to foster friendships and leadership. The Majlis on campus provides a space to discuss ideas, share culture and strengthen community bonds. The school supports a broad range of clubs and leadership opportunities, including Head Girls, Deputy Head Girls, Prefects and a School Council, which are active parts of school life.
Durham School for Girls Doha maintains an active Parent–Teacher Association that supports student learning through ongoing dialogue with staff. A dedicated PTA Consultation Day brings parents together with teachers to discuss progress, celebrate achievements and plan how to support pupils' development. The school emphasizes home–school partnership and communicates with families via an ISAMS-based Parent Portal that provides attendance, grades, newsletters and trip approvals. Community-facing events involving families include Pink Day for Cancer Awareness Month and World Space Week, which feature student performances and fundraising activities. The school notes that parent input and partnership strengthen the community and support student confidence for life.
