Newton British Academy Barwa City

The Newton Group of Schools was founded in 2006 by Dr. Jabr Al-Noaimi and Afaf Al-Moadhadi. NBA Barwa City is part of the Newton Group's Doha network delivering the English National Curriculum across its campuses. In May 2022, Newton British Academy was inspected by the Association of British Schools Overseas and the UK Department of Education and received an Outstanding rating in all eight educational areas, a distinction achieved by only a small number of Gulf schools. The Newton Group has grown into a multi-campus network across Doha, including NBA Barwa City and other Newton British Academy campuses, and holds international accreditations such as CIS, BSO, and SAPERE.

NBA Barwa City has an international school community with over 70 nationalities represented. The school describes itself as an international community of learners striving for excellence and celebrating success. Life at NBA Barwa Campus emphasizes engaging teaching, high-quality programmes, and a broad range of educational opportunities. Community events and activities feature a variety of programmes, including a University Fair, Hands-on Science Incursion, STEM Week, Charity Week, and Mental Health Day, among others.

The NBA Barwa City Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) is an active volunteer body of school staff and parents that helps organise school events. The main aims are to encourage cooperation between parents and the school for the well-being of the children, to foster interest in the educational processes of the school from the wider community, and to engage in a range of social and educational activities to enrich school life. The day-to-day running of the PTA is handled by a small committee of elected members chosen at the PTA inaugural meeting at the start of each academic year. The PTA works to foster strong relationships among pupils, staff, parents, and the local community, and invites interested parents to contact the school reception to learn more or get involved.
