Qatar Academy Doha (QAD) was established in 1995 as Qatar Foundation's first school, located in Education City in Doha. It sits at the heart of Education City, within a dynamic ecosystem of universities, research centers, innovation labs and cultural institutions. The school was founded under the visionary leadership of Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser to embody Qatar Foundation's commitment to excellence, innovation, and human development. As an IB World School, QAD is part of Qatar Foundation's Pre-University Education and holds accreditation from NEASC and the Council of International Schools. The school celebrated its thirtieth anniversary, marking decades of growth within the Education City community.
Qatar Academy Doha serves a multinational student body, with over 1,883 students representing diverse nationalities. Senior School students participate in and help organize the THIMUN Qatar Conference, illustrating strong student leadership and regional collaboration. QAD's Eco-Schools program earned the Green Flag Award in 2022, the first Education City school to achieve it, reflecting a campus-wide emphasis on environmental awareness and action. QAD also hosts cultural events as part of its International Week, including a Mexican heritage celebration in 2025, in collaboration with cultural partners.
The Qatar Academy Doha PTA exists to support and coordinate parent involvement in school life to foster a positive school community. The PTA provides a channel for parent engagement and for parents to share perspectives about school life, fostering a collaborative home–school partnership. PTA activities include hosting social events and activities aimed at strengthening home–school partnerships. PTAs in the Qatar Foundation's QA network are designed to support student learning and community life by involving families in school events and initiatives. Public postings for Doha-specific PTA events are not currently published on the school site, but the PTA's role as a formal channel for family involvement is described in QA network materials.
