QA Sidra was established in 2012 as part of the Qatar Foundation Pre-University Education. It is a non-profit, co-educational international school offering a broad-based, international educational programme. QA Sidra is a fully authorized International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme, Middle Years Programme and Diploma Programme school. The school is licensed by the Qatari Ministry of Education and is accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC); CIS re-accreditation was completed on January 6, 2026.
QA Sidra serves about 831 students from 37+ nationalities, with around 60% Qatari. Community life includes annual cultural events such as International Day of Peace (Peace One Day) celebrations. National Sport Day is celebrated as part of QA Sidra's community calendar.
The PTA is a group consisting of all QA Sidra parents and legal guardians of QA Sidra students as well as all QA Sidra faculty and teachers. Its goal is to build a partnership between school and home and to engage in community and fundraising activities that support QA Sidra. The PTA provides a forum for parents to have a voice in the school conversation through Advisory Conversations and encourages engagement by all parents and teachers. It funds, plans, and carries out activities throughout the year and creates forums for information exchange between parents and teachers. Volunteer opportunities include Class Parents, PTA events, helping organize events, Welcome Team, Sponsorship and Fundraising, sharing talents as part of the co-curricular programme and after-school activities, and monthly Advisory conversations with school leadership. All QA Sidra parents are members of the PTA.
