Parent Experience

Community, involvement and what it's like to be a parent at this school

History

Al Alia International Indian School was established on 6 April 2003 in Riyadh by Thomas Chandy, starting with 200 students and 23 teachers in the Azizia area. In 2009 the school relocated to a purpose-built campus in Al Malaz to support expansion and senior secondary education. Within six years of opening, the first Class X batch achieved a 100% pass rate, and the Class XII batch graduated in 2011 with a similar milestone. The school is currently owned by Mohammad Hamad Abdullah Al Humaidi and is affiliated with CBSE Gulf Sahodaya. In 2023, the school celebrated its 20th anniversary.

Community

The school's community comprises Indian expatriate families in Riyadh who participate in school events and alumni activities. The school hosted a condolence meeting in 2012 for the death of MO Hasan Farook Maricar, former Indian ambassador to Saudi Arabia. Model United Nations conferences have been part of school life since 2014, including events hosted by student groups such as Peevees. In 2015, the Girls' Wing received an investiture ceremony with a guest from Yara School, and inter-school sports events such as the Lulu-Keli Inter-School Football Tournament began that year. In 2019 the school marked its 17th anniversary with Rajesh Kumar from the Indian embassy as chief guest.

Parent-Teacher Association

Parent–Teacher Meetings (PTM) and Open Houses are standard practices at the school. Attendance is compulsory for parents at these meetings. Parents can interact directly with the Principal during PTMs. For 2025–2026, PTMs are scheduled for KG–XII on 6 September 2025 and 10 January 2026. Annual Open House events are scheduled for 25 February 2026 for IX, X, XI and 14 March 2026 for KG–VIII.
