The language of instruction in the Primary School is German, with German as a Foreign Language (DaF) support for students not yet fluent. German, Mathematics, Science & Social Studies, Arabic (as a mother tongue or foreign language), Art, Music, and Physical Education are taught in the Primary. English and Arabic are taught in differentiated ways. German language courses are offered in small groups with qualified teachers. The school follows the Thuringia curriculum for the German component. In the Upper School, the GIB-DP features German A (SL) and English B (HL) as core language groups, with History and Biology taught in German, Mathematics taught in English, and electives including French and Arabic (SL/HL) plus online Psychology (SL/HL). The GIB-DP emphasizes bilingual education and university access in Germany and abroad, with core components such as CAS, TOK, and Extended Essay.
The GIB Diploma Programme is offered in Grades 11 and 12 with bilingual education in German and English. The program blends the German curriculum with English-language components, and several subjects are delivered in German or English to support bilingual proficiency. Bilingual education is a core feature of the DISJ upper school package.
Language and culture camps in Germany are offered during school holidays.
