The German International School Jeddah (DISJ) is an acknowledged German school abroad located near the Red Sea in Jeddah. The Mission Statement has existed since 2004/2005 and was revised in 2011 by the respective committees. It expresses the values shared by pupils, teachers, parents, and employees and guides the school's actions and thinking, binding the entire school community. The Mission Statement sets eight guiding principles, including maintaining high quality from kindergarten up to the IB and a main focus on language education. The upper school path leads to the Gemischtsprachiges International Baccalaureate (GIB), which prepares students for university work and provides international access to universities.
DISJ fosters a democratic and confident atmosphere that offers belonging and solidarity within the school community. It emphasizes respect, tolerance, and productive cooperation among teachers, students, and families. The school values its cultural diversity among students and their parents and supports the individual development of every child and young adult. Language education is a central focus of the DISJ community and the school encourages students to work to their highest ability in an open and evolving process.
