The school offers 40 curriculum subjects for Secondary Education and allows students to choose a stream: Science, Mathematics, Commerce, or ICT. Science students study Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics and select mandatory and optional subjects such as English, Statistics, and ICT. Commerce students study Business Studies and Economics with English, ICT, and Statistics as optional subjects. Examinations and assessments follow Cambridge and Edexcel frameworks and are regulated by Ofqual in the United Kingdom.
The Media Unit empowers students to express their creativity and develop vital communication skills. Students engage in content creation, including articles, videos, and graphics, manage the school's social media, and cover events. The unit runs training and workshops to build media production and digital literacy.
Co-curricular activities include Quranic Quiz Competition, Poetry Competition, Oratorical Contest, Qirath Competition, Spelling Bee Contest, Essay Competition, Inter House Debates, and writing for the annual school magazine Wisdom.
House activities include Inter House Badminton Tournament, Debating Contest, Inter House Football Tournament, Inter House Netball Tournament, and Inter House Quiz Competition.
Prefect Committee provides student leadership opportunities and supports the school leadership team; prefects monitor sanitation and cleanliness, coordinate sports teams and student-led entertainment, manage a student duty rotation, and collaborate with the cocurricular teacher to organize academic and cultural activities. The prefectorial structure includes Stewards, Prefects, Senior Prefects, Deputy Head Prefects, Senior Deputy Head Prefects, and Head Prefect. The Media Unit empowers students to express creativity and develop communication skills through content creation, social media management, event coverage, and training/workshops.
SLISR provides a range of sporting activities inside and outside the curriculum and holds a whole-school Sport Meet in the first semester. Activities include football, badminton, basketball, cricket, netball, athletics, and table tennis, with an emphasis on developing physical, social, and emotional skills.
