Parent Experience

Community, involvement and what it's like to be a parent at this school

History

Chadwick International was founded in 2010 in Songdo, South Korea, as the international campus of Chadwick School in Palos Verdes, California. It is operated by the Roessler-Chadwick Foundation, which runs Chadwick School in California and Chadwick International on opposite sides of the globe. The Songdo campus opened on September 7, 2010, with about 280 students on a 17-acre, 500,000-square-foot site designed to support PK–12 education. The project was supported by substantial investment from the Incheon Metropolitan City government as part of the Songdo International Business District development. Since opening, Chadwick International has grown to serve Pre-K through Grade 12 and to maintain cross-campus collaboration with Chadwick School to uphold a shared mission and core values.

Community

Chadwick International defines its community as a global, interconnected network of students, families, teachers and staff from diverse backgrounds. Exchanges with Chadwick School in Palos Verdes enable cross-campus learning and broader connections across the two campuses. The CI campus hosts events and programs that engage families beyond the classroom, including alumni panels, concerts and service initiatives. The school calendar in recent years features activities such as the 2025 Day of Giving, and ongoing student-led projects and exhibitions.

Parent-Teacher Association

The Chadwick International Parent Association (CIPA) is a volunteer-based program that connects parents and students across all grade levels and supports school life. It has a dedicated on-campus office and a school store, and it coordinates frequent opportunities to contribute and volunteer. CIPA organizes three major fundraising events each year: the Halloween Party, Family Fun Day and the CIPA Dinner, as well as additional events such as Ice Cream Social and International Week. It runs a buddy system to welcome new families, assigns a parent representative for each grade, and keeps families informed through regular communications. CIPA coordinates volunteer opportunities that support classroom activities, the school store and other events. CIPA also hosts cultural exchange activities that connect international and local families, including tea ceremonies, kimchi making, a Hanbok event, and an international family potluck.
