Clubs, activities, and opportunities to explore interests and passions

Academic and Intellectual

Seoul Foreign School runs the Schoolwide Extracurricular Program (SWEP), extending learning beyond the classroom with a broad slate of academic and STEM clubs. Students can participate in Debate, SFSTEM Creative VEX, Robotics, Space Science, and Coding, among other academically oriented activities. Middle School includes National History Day and Junior Model United Nations as part of its extracurricular offerings, and High School enrichment is coordinated through the Counseling team with programs such as Global Youth Village and World Affairs Seminar.

Arts and Creative

Arts at Seoul Foreign School span drama, music, and visual arts. The drama program presents large-scale productions and more than ten additional performances each year, with students serving as actors, builders, technicians, and crew; High School students can participate in Crusader Live as part of the student production staff. The music program is one of the largest at SFS, involving about 95% of students and producing more than 25 recitals and concerts annually, with ensembles across divisions and IB Music pathways. The visual arts program covers all divisions, advancing from design basics to three-dimensional and digital art, including IB Visual Arts in the Diploma Programme.

Cultural and Language

Mother Tongue Language Programs are offered through SWEP, including Chinese Mother Tongue, Korean Mother Tongue, and Korean for Beginners across divisions. Model United Nations is active at the school, with Junior Model United Nations in Middle School. SWEP also supports language clubs and other cultural activities as part of its offerings to promote intercultural understanding.

Social and Hobbies

Social and hobby clubs extend after-school life beyond academics, with activities such as Chess, Minecraft, Video Editing, and various arts- and language-related clubs. The SWEP list includes Move & Play Club and other experiential offerings, along with dance and music-related clubs across divisions. Students can also participate in student-led opportunities and school events that foster peer connections outside the classroom.

Community and Service

Christian Ministries & Service provides many faith-based and service opportunities, including AWANA, Discipleship+, Youth LAB, Hearts to Serve, IMPACT, Psalms Choir, United in Prayer, Shalom Vida Nueva, World Vision 30 Hour Famine, and Service in South Korea. The program also engages student leaders through the Impact Student Leaders (ISL) and collaborates with local and international organizations for outreach. All students are encouraged to grow in their faith and to serve others through grade-level service activities.

Leadership and Professional

Leadership and professional development are supported through multiple avenues. The High School Enrichment Opportunities page outlines global leadership experiences such as Global Youth Village and World Affairs Seminar. The program also emphasizes CAS, Personal Projects (MYP) and Extended Essays (DP) to connect creativity, action, and service with ongoing learning. In addition, Middle School includes House Leadership, and the Christian Ministries program coordinates student leadership through ISL (Impact Student Leaders).

Lifestyle and Wellbeing

The athletics program offers a wide range of sports across Elementary, Middle, and High School, including soccer, tennis, volleyball, basketball, cross-country, wrestling, cheer, swimming, and track and field, with participation in KAIAC and APAC events. The Schoolwide Extracurricular Program and after-school activities support fitness and social wellbeing, including wellness offerings such as Yoga & Mindfulness. These programs are designed to promote physical health, teamwork, and balance alongside academics.

Seoul Foreign School (SFS) is an international school in Seoul serving students ages 2–18. Students learn on a 25-acre hilltop campus across four sections: British School, Elementary, Middle and High School. SFS offers two curricular pathways which are the International Baccalaureate Continuum and the English National Curriculum. In Elementary, students follow the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) and in Middle School, they follow the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP). The High School offers the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) in Grades 11–12. Early learners in the British School Foundation follow the International Early Years Curriculum (IEYC) and primary years they use the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) alongside Maths and Literacy linked to the English National Curriculum. For performing arts, SFS lists multiple theatre venues, including the Lyso Center for the Performing Arts.
