The school was founded in 2008 with the principal objective of providing a truly international education for our students, to prepare them for life within the global community. Since inception our aim has been to encourage all our students to achieve their maximum academic and personal potential. In 2016 the School initiated Vocational Training in Sport and Leisure, which provides students with an opportunity to gain professional qualifications in the Sport and Leisure sector, in conjunction with obtaining a Cambridge University certified English qualification (KET, PET and First Certificate). In 2017 the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme was incorporated into the school's curriculum, consolidating its position as the leading international school of the region. As a Globeducate school, international education is central to our vision and educational philosophy, with Globeducate promoting international culture and an open mind set for the entire school community, providing unique learning experiences at both an academic and personal level.
Agora Barcelona International School is an international private school forming part of the Globeducate group. The school offers a diverse, trilingual, secular curriculum built on core values and respectful of every family's beliefs. Globeducate operates in 10 countries and owns and runs more than 55 schools, enabling international experiences such as boarding or summer schools in Spain, Andorra, or the United Kingdom. Families, pupils, teachers and alumni form a community, with opportunities for international experiences and events as part of the Globeducate offering, including activities such as Globeducate events and international exchanges.
Agora Barcelona International School has an active Parents Association, AMPA (Asociación de Madres y Padres de Alumnos). Mothers, Fathers and Legal Guardians of students come together through AMPA to organize ways for families to become more actively involved in the education of their children and forge closer links with the school. Parents are invited to attend regular parent's meetings to monitor their child's academic progress and are provided with an academic report at the end of each term. The school fosters home–school communication and supports families through extended school hours and a comprehensive transport service. Families can participate in extra events held at the School such as Halloween or Carnival and international events such as the Globeducate Olympic Games.
Agora Barcelona International School is a private international school in Spain serving ages 1 to 18. It offers IB programmes—PYP, DP and IBCP—together with a Bespoke Curriculum that adapts to individual learners. The school provides a trilingual, multilingual education with immersion in English and official languages; lessons are delivered in English, Castellano and Catalan, while courses are also offered in French, German and Chinese. Students may pursue the International Baccalaureate track or undertake a double Vocational Training qualification with official English certification. Founded in 2008, Agora aims to prepare students for life in a global community and participates in Globeducate exchanges and programmes. The campus occupies about 40,000 m² in a rural setting beside the Barcelona Golf Club, with the Montserrat mountains in the backdrop.
