Parent Experience

Community, involvement and what it's like to be a parent at this school

History

Agora Madrid International School was founded in 1981 by a group of families and education professionals to address the educational challenges of the time. In 2006 Agora Madrid International School joined Globeducate, a network of more than 55 schools. In 2015 it became an IB World School, enabling the IB Diploma Programme for senior students. It teaches all stages from Preschool to Baccalaureate, including the Diploma Programme (DP) and the Primary Years Programme (PYP) of the International Baccalaureate, and is an official music conservatory with a pioneering IB-based arts offering.

Community

International events are an essential part of Globeducate. Pupils from 50 nationalities interact with students from other countries, improving language skills and understanding other perspectives. Notable events include the Globeducate Olympics, International Music Week and the Globeducate Model United Nations. Agora Madrid fosters family involvement through the International Family Council, a platform for international families to become more actively involved with the school, and has hosted Meet & Greet events to strengthen integration and community.

Parent-Teacher Association

The International Family Council (IFC) is a platform through which international families become more actively involved with Agora Madrid International School. The IFC provides a space for sharing ideas, perspectives and collaboration on the school's ongoing improvement. To join, families email international.families@agoraism.com and may also join a WhatsApp group for quick communication. The IFC has hosted Meet & Greet events to strengthen integration, coexistence and the international community at Agora Madrid.
