There is an explicit focus on teaching emotional regulation, including related resources and posts about emotional regulation. Alegra Prep School is authorised by the British Council to deliver the English National Curriculum. The Prep School runs Infants and Juniors under the English National Curriculum, while Secondary and Baccalaureate follow the IB framework, sharing a common educational philosophy centered on student learning. The overall model blends English instruction with Spanish roots to foster bilingual, globally minded learning.
The SENCO department observes signals related to emotional well‑being and provides support to strengthen students' emotional development through a structured cycle of observation, detection, diagnosis, adaptation, monitoring and accompaniment. There is explicit emphasis on teaching emotional regulation, including related materials and posts. The program also features activities such as EmocionArte, a week dedicated to expressing and exploring emotions through art. When needed, Alegra coordinates with a Senior Mental Health Lead and, where available, a Mental Health Support Team to support pupils' mental health.
Alegra is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all pupils. The school has designated safeguarding leads (including a Designated Safeguarding Lead and deputies) and follows local safeguarding partnership guidance to identify and report concerns. The policy outlines prevention, reporting, and support procedures, including online safety, and referrals to social services or other agencies as appropriate. Staff induction, training, and clear lines of communication with families are required, and safeguarding records are maintained and updated. The policy is aligned with relevant education guidance and is reviewed annually.

2. Personal Interview. An individual meeting at Alegra gives you the opportunity to meet our team and tour the school with a staff member. You can ask all your questions and talk with current students as you explore the school. Visits can be arranged most days during term time by contacting the Admissions Team.
3. Admissions Test. Admissions Tests assess the skills and abilities of your child before starting the English National Curriculum or IB Programme. Tests are arranged by year group (Juniors Year 3–Year 6; Secondary MYP 1–MYP 4; DP 5–DP2). After registration, your child will be invited to an Assessment Day at the school, reports from the current school will be requested, and there is an opportunity to meet the Key Stage Co-ordinator and tour the school. A Trial Day is also part of the process. Documents required include reports from the previous and current academic year, English accreditation certificates, psycho-pedagogical reports if any, and (for international students) a letter of recommendation.
4. Admission & Alegra Insight. After the interview and admissions tests, you will receive an answer from the school, and with an official admission offer you will receive a Letter of Admission. Alegra Insight invites you to introductory sessions about the school's identity; this closes the Admissions Process.
Economic aid programs are available for families with 3 or more children enrolled at Alegra; eligibility is based on having three or more children at the school.
