The Anne Sullivan International School Barcelona was born to meet a social need that demands quality education, applying innovative pedagogical models based on neuroscience, psychology, and sociology. The school focuses on creativity, learning by doing, and a demanding curriculum, with the theory of Multiple Intelligences guiding how talent is discovered in each child. Languages are introduced from an early age, and character education and the development of creative and critical thinking enable students to decide their own path and become agents of change in society.
Leaderlabs provide enrichment beyond the official curriculum. The Atelier offers sensory and artistic exploration to foster creativity and connect art with the curriculum. The violin is taught as part of the music program, and Dance includes Ballet and Hip-Hop. Chess and Robotics also support creative thinking and problem solving.
English is the main language used at school, with a structured immersion–learning–consolidation progression from Infant school to Baccalaureate. In Infant education, 80% of teaching time is in English; in Primary education, 55% is in the learning stage with French and German introduced; in ESO and Baccalaureate, 40% is in the consolidation stage. Anne Sullivan International School Barcelona is a private K–12 IB World School serving ages 3–18. The curriculum covers IB PYP, MYP and DP, with English as the main language of instruction and a phased immersion model moving from immersion to learning to consolidation; in primary, French and German are introduced.
