Wellbeing and Support

How students are nurtured, understood, and kept safe

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)

The school has a Pla de Convivència (Plan for Coexistence) that guides the management and improvement of convivencia. Actions include acollida (welcoming), coeducació, social competence, communication, educació emocional, educació per la Pau, inclusió, suport i mediació. Mutual respect, care for common property, and the defense of individual and collective rights and duties underpin school life. The tutorial system and class assemblies support relationships and conflict resolution, with involvement from families. The school emphasises emotional education and inclusive practices to foster a sense of belonging and safety for every student.

Special Educational Needs (SEN)

The school attends to diversity through inclusive practices. It uses heterogeneous groupings and curricular adaptations to address different learner needs. Detection and evaluation of educational needs inform interventions. The school uses flexible teaching approaches and adjusts evaluation criteria to reflect progress. A Plan of Tutorial Action (PAT) supports monitoring and guidance of students, with coordinated involvement of teachers and families.

English as an Additional Language (EAL)

English is the main language of instruction from P3 to Batxillerat. From P3 to P5, the school uses English immersion to develop language naturally. In early years, the classroom teacher speaks English, while also understanding and speaking Catalan/Spanish to support emotional contexts. In primary, French and German are introduced. English is used for about 80% of instructional time in early childhood, 55% in primary, and 40% in ESO and Batxillerat, with international exchanges offered.

Mental Wellbeing

The teacher fosters personal and social development including emotional and moral aspects. All teachers monitor students' progress, both individually and collectively, with psychopedagogical support where needed. Emotional education is integrated into the school's approach. Tutoring and guidance structures support student wellbeing and development. The school aims to create a climate where students feel supported, safe, and able to act with autonomy.

Safeguarding

The school has a Pla de Convivència that guides actions to improve convivencia and manage conflicts. The plan includes acollida, coeducació, social competence, communication, emotional education, education for peace, inclusion, support and mediation. The school sets rules for safety, including an emergency plan (evacuation), and norms for playground and dining areas. There is a Protocol for acting in case of risk in personal or group relationships. Privacy and data protection policies for digital resources and devices are in place, with measures for digital safety.
