Languages taught include Spanish (first language), English (instruction in English), French (minimum five years), Mandarin (Year 9 onward), German (Year 10 onward), and other languages via BiBac and after-school clubs. BiBac® provides a bilingual track for Years 12–13 with many subjects taught in English and Spanish, and options to study French, German and Mandarin within the programme.
The British School provides a bilingual and bicultural education for pupils aged 1 to 18. The program combines the English National Curriculum with the Spanish curriculum, and a BiBac® (Bilingual Baccalaureate) is offered for Years 12–13, following an IGCSE programme in Years 10–11. In Secondary, many subjects are taught in English (including English language and literature, sciences, mathematics, history and geography, ICT, design and technology, art and design, music, and physical education), while Spanish-language subjects are taught in Spanish; French, German and Mandarin are also available as additional languages.
Immersion-style language development is supported through the bilingual model and the language offerings described on the Languages page, including French (for at least five years), Mandarin (from Year 9) and German (from Year 10), with Spanish as a first language and English instruction at UK levels.
The British School Pozuelo de Alarcón is a day school for pupils aged 1 to 18. The curriculum combines the English National Curriculum with elements of the Spanish system and BiBac for ages 16–18. Founded in 1940, the school offers bilingual and bicultural education with British and Spanish teachers. The Pozuelo de Alarcón campus spans over 26,000 square metres and provides spaces for Early Years, Primary and Secondary. Facilities include El Teatro del Británico, a 1,200 m² theatre seating 300; five science laboratories opened in 2012 with electron microscopes and high-end chemical analysis equipment; an art wing; high‑tech music studios; and a band room. Each building houses a library; classrooms have interactive whiteboards; across the campus there are 3D printers and robotics equipment. BiBac results 2025 average 7.91 and PAU pass rate; IGCSE results 55% A*-A and 74% A*-B. After-school activities include Languages, Music, Public Speaking, Sports, Theatre and Dance.
