The British School of Valencia is a private, co-educational school in central Valencia, welcoming students aged 2 to 18 from around 40 nationalities. It delivers a British curriculum starting with the Early Years Foundation Stage, with National Curriculum coverage through Key Stages 1–4, GCSEs, and A-Levels in the Sixth Form; the Spanish curriculum requirements are integrated as required by authorities. British School of Valencia offers a holistic British curriculum with multilingual education in Valencia. The taught curriculum broadly follows the National Curriculum for Key Stages 1–4 and is formally assessed by GCSEs, with KS5 assessment by A-Levels. The Spanish curriculum requirements are included as mandated by the Spanish authorities. CAT4 baseline assessments are used: pupils entering Years 7–9 take the CAT4 in September of their entry year, and all pupils take the CAT4 at the start of Year 10. Six-step admissions process: 1. Contact us: After an enquiry, our Admissions Officer will contact you. 2. Visit BSV: Book a private tour or attend an open day to learn about the curriculum and learning atmosphere. 3. Entry requirements: Students from Year 2 to Year 13 submit school reports and proof of their level of English; an interview may be conducted to assess academic ability. 4. Offer of place: After submitting the required reports and completing any necessary interview, a time-limited formal offer of a place is made. If no places are available for the desired entry date, the child is placed on the waiting list. 5. Admissions documentation: If you accept the offer, complete the enrolment documents and pay the admission fee to secure admission. 6. Start at BSV: Arrival and onboarding ensure a smooth process and integration into the BSV community. Entry requirements: Enrolment forms and necessary documents; siblings of current students have preference. Early Years & Year 1: Pre-Nursery, Nursery, Reception and Year 1 require enrolment forms and documents; no prior English is required. Primary: Year 2–Year 6 require an age-appropriate level of spoken and written English and numeracy; previous school reports and proof of English are requested; a meeting with the Head of Primary is arranged. Secondary: Year 7–Year 11 require two last school reports and proof of English; if a place is available, an appointment to visit is arranged and an admissions interview. Sixth Form: Year 12–Year 13 require evidence of 5 A-C (9-4) IGCSE or equivalent, past school reports and proof of English (C1–C2); an interview assesses spoken English and guidance on AS/A-Level subject choices.
If no places are available for the desired entry date, the child will be placed on the waiting list and notified when a place becomes available.
