The Guidance Department is a support body that encourages, fosters and coordinates tutoring and guidance, and assists the different sectors of the educational process. It is a service available to the entire educational community. The activities are divided into four main groups: supporting the teaching-learning process (attention to diversity, providing resources); Tutorial Action Plan; Academic and professional guidance; and advisory, coordination and cooperation with families. Preschool and Primary focus on prevention, intervention and monitoring of all students; Secondary and Baccalaureate coordinate the Tutorial Action Plan and the planning of school and professional guidance, and advise students and families.
Attention to diversity and providing resources to support the teaching-learning process are part of the Guidance Department's remit. The department focuses on prevention, intervention and monitoring in Preschool and Primary, and, for Secondary and Baccalaureate, coordinates the Tutorial Action Plan and school and professional guidance, advising students and families.
The school offers a truly international environment. Learning the two main languages, English and Spanish, is a natural process for students and results from structured teaching programmes and the socio-linguistic context the school provides.
The Atalaya International School facilities are designed to support well-being, with a modern, safe and functional environment and spaces equipped with the latest technologies. The school considers that good facilities—from the lunchroom to classrooms and sports areas—are essential to students' well-being. A School Nurse Department is on site every day during school hours, with a fully equipped nursing station, providing health care, incident follow-up and health education. The school is cardio-protected with a SAED device and staff receive ongoing training.
The Regulation on Organisation and Functioning regulates peaceful coexistence within the educational community, providing a framework to guarantee harmony in daily life and the resolution of incidents. Students have the right to receive protection against any type of physical or moral aggression, and there is a focus on respecting diversity and non-discrimination as part of coexistence rules.
