Colégio Suizo Madrid is a confessional independent, nonprofit school for ages 2 to 18, with a small, family-like atmosphere. The curriculum centers on the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) alongside a bespoke programme designed to support holistic, individualized development. German is the language of instruction and main language, with two bilingual streams: German–Spanish and English–Spanish; English and French are taught and Cambridge/Alliance exams are offered. The school serves about 530–600 students and emphasizes creativity, critical thinking, responsibility and independence. Affiliated with SIS Swiss International Schools Group from the 2026/27 year, the school draws on a long Swiss heritage. It sits on nearly 25,000 m² of green space in Alcobendas, adjacent to La Moraleja, and shares facilities with the Swiss Club. Excellence is supported by extensive science labs, music and arts spaces, a library, and a capacity for hands-on, project-based learning, with sport occupying 11,000 m² of outdoor and indoor facilities.

The school emphasizes personality development and social learning, in addition to providing solid knowledge and skills. Education is holistic and individualized, with teachers and parents contributing to students' development. The curriculum follows Swiss standards, with many teachers from Switzerland and regular quality checks by Swiss inspectors. Students acquire personal, social, and methodological competencies on their way to the Swiss Matura and the Spanish Bachiller. The school is a living space as well as a learning environment, with open communication and a culture of belonging and mutual trust within the school community. It also prepares students for access to universities in Switzerland, Spain, and other countries.
A team of specialized professionals accompanies teachers to ensure holistic development of students and address the needs of students and their families. They identify learning difficulties and emotional or social difficulties through psycho-pedagogical assessments. They support teachers and families with educational guidelines and promote a positive school climate through various projects. They support students with learning difficulties and accompany them in managing conflicts and emotions. They coordinate prevention workshops on bullying and cyberbullying, drug use, eating disorders, sexual and emotional education, and career guidance, and provide counseling to families and workshops for parents.
In the pre-kindergarten and kindergarten, daily routines are conducted in German, with a short German language lesson. Spanish is introduced in first grade. English begins in fifth grade and French begins in ninth grade. Both languages are compulsory through to graduation. Official examinations are taken at the Cambridge Institute and the Alliance Française, and German language examinations are offered by the Goethe-Institut.
The school fosters a positive climate that supports students' social and emotional development. The KiVa program prevents bullying, trains staff and students, and helps students recognize and regulate emotions. Creative and experiential activities such as Object Theatre 'Flomi' and the kindergarten mediation ritual 'The Golden Box' teach empathy and constructive conflict resolution. The Peacemakers project in the primary school and peer mentoring promote responsibility, solidarity, and respectful teamwork. Parent education and family counseling are provided to support mental wellbeing across the school community.
